You want to adopt a dog - Please be guided by our Policy

(Adoption of cats differ in some aspects)

An Adoption Request Form must be completed - you get the form here. You can view and select any dog of your choise. Please pay attention to Section 7  - Hold For -  on the yellow card on kennel. If there is someone's name appearing here or there is an 'Adopted' sign on kennel, then the dog is not availale.

Let the Administration staff know of your choise and they will write your name in, on that Section. House check will be carried out 7-10 days after your visit. In some instances it may be longer, depending on the area  in which you live and availability of our house check volunteers. This is to ensure that the home is properly fenced so that the animal cannot get out and accidentally run over. We also need to ensure that if the animal being kept in a yard, then a suitable shaded area is available for it. We also try to match the animal and the prospective new owner, taking into account the temperament of the animal and the and constitution of the household. It makes no sense for us to re-home a nervous dog with a family that has small children. Similary, we cannot home an excitable puppy with an elderly person. Once house check is approved you will be notified to come in to collect your dog.

You can be disqualified for certain reasons. Ask the Administration staff about this.

The spaying or neutering of animals is an condition of adopting. This is not negotiable. Please read the Spay & Neuter Guideline.

A donation is required for adoption. This is an open donation; however, we ask that you bear in mind the costs incurred in housing and maintaining these animals, which include, veterinary treatment on entry and of course food. The longer animals have been with us the greater the cost incurred.

We are a very small facility serving a large country. Our space is quite limited and the animals are numerous. Hundreds of homeless and unwanted dogs and cats in T&TSPCA need your help. If you have a big heart, time to spare and willingness to open your home to loving and needy animals, then you are the person we are looking for. For more information on how you can help save these precious lives, please contact the TTSPCA.

You will find some animals for adoption in the gallery.
